Canon has announced the release of the upcoming 7D 35mm DSLR. It has video capabilities surpassing that of its older brother the 5D, with the only downside of a smaller chip. It shouldn’t be a difficult decision for filmmakers not needing the 5D’s full frame sensor chip. If this camera stands up to Canon’s reputation for unbelievably high dynamic range and rich color quality, the 7D, with its ability to shoot Full HD (1920 x 1080) at 24, 25, and 30 fps, will be well worth its $1699 price point.

I can’t wait to pick one of these bad boys up!
This camera is so cool. Can I use Nikon lenses with this?
They haven’t announced an official adapter for this camera yet, but there are aftermarket adapters for F-mount lenses.
